Artist Spotlight: “Gloomie”

Australia has witnessed a surge in exceptional new artists. Among them, “Gloomie” stands out as a particularly captivating figure. Her mesmerizing chord progressions and delicate vocal delivery had me diving deeper into her musical offerings.

Casey Logemann, or “Gloomie,” has dedicated herself to her music career, resulting in her current success. I am filled with anticipation for her growth in the music industry this year. I firmly believe that great things are in store for her!

After delving into her music, I got the opportunity to ask her some questions. We discussed life lessons, her inspirations, and her plans for 2025.

Q&A

Your music and lyrics are extremely relatable, especially with the aspects of getting older and learning life lessons.

What is one major life lesson you have learned while growing your career through the music industry?

Well technically, this is four, but I feel like they’re related….

We’re all on our own timeline and doing things in our own way, so comparison is pointless. Self-compassion is important, and celebrating your friends and peers is the best.

There’s really no point in pursuing music if you fall out of love with it, so enjoy the process. If you love what you do, you’re already successful.

There’s a lot of community. Nurture your relationships with other artists and musicians.

If you try to be a nice person, you’ll probably be happier.

Do you remember when you first fell in love or got that “spark” for music?

When I was a kid, my mum would play guitar at home. I don’t think I appreciated at the time how cool she is; she used to play songs by artists like Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams. I picked up the guitar because of her when I was about 13 years old and quickly became obsessed with music. I have very fond memories of singing country and bluegrass harmonies with my mum.

Who are some artists that inspire you and why?

I feel inspired when a song overwhelms me to the point that I tear up. That’s what I’d like to be able to do with my music; evoke big emotion, something people can connect to. A few artists who have mastered this and who have also made me cry lately are Skullcrusher, Phoebe Brigers, Adrianne Lenker, and Phoebe Go.

What major goals do you have for yourself and your music in 2025?

Release my debut album, and I really, really want to go on tour this year!
